Last night was Isaac’s Bar Mitzvah Party. This was a cool party because Isaac and his family and friends like a lot of different music and not always the main stream stuff. We were able to play a lot of games up front and when it came time for dancing we did a lot of interactive bits throughout the evening.
Isaac likes Weird Al and They Might Be Giants. I was turned on to the latter when I did his sisters Bat Mitzvah 6 years ago. SIX YEARS!!!! I remixed one of their favorite songs for them and they seemed to like it.
It is really nice to work with people you consider friends and extended family.
I also had a DJ friend from Ohio come down and check out the party. He is looking at possibly getting into the Mitzvah market. I think he would do well but I warned him it can get a bit crazy.
